We use the computers in all grades during library classes. Students in grades k through 2 do not use the computers weekly.  They are still learning the Dewey Decimal System in the library.  Starting in grade 3, students will learn about "library research" and continue with the researching skills in grades 4 and 5.
Students in Kindergarten and First Grade will practice the following computer skills and topics in the library:
  • Keyboarding (Locating the letter, number, enter, hyphen and backspace keys)
  • Mouse skills
  • Navigating through websites (ABCYa, PBS kids, Seussville, and Poptropica)
  • Independently signing onto computers with their Google Account cards
Students in Grades 2 and 3 will learn the following skills:
  • Google Docs 
  • Google Drive
  • Google Forms
  • Navigating the internet with Google Search
  • Using the Chromebook keyboard
Students in Grades 4 and 5 will learn:
  • Digital Citizenship (Cyberbullying, Internet Search and Safety, Digital Etiquette)
  • Internet Research
  • Accredited vs. non-accredited websites, such as Blogs and Wikis
  • Google Docs
  • Google Slides
  • Google Drive
  • Google Sites
  • Google Drawing
  • Google Forms
